Becoming

I read something recently that essentially says, the key to maximizing your daily schedule starts with asking the right question.  The question isn't, what do I want to get done today.  Instead, the key question of our time is, who do I want to become in this stage of my life?

If people can't see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves.  But when they attend to what He reveals, they are most blessed (A Proverb).  In order to better understand who you are becoming, you've got to have a relationship with the one who knows you better than you know yourself, your creator.  How can we see what God is doing in our lives, if we aren't dedicating time to attending to what He reveals?

Here's my simple prayer today to better attend to what God is revealing:
God, help me to be still long enough to really see you today.  Before the noise of tasks, people, and expectations crowd me in, help me to hear you.  Then, help me to believe and take action on what I hear.  No stumbling out of the gate for me.  I want a strong start to today, to lead to a strong finish at the end, knowing I've done my part to move closer to who I am destined to become.  It begins with trusting you to guide me.
